So what "missions" as per the advertisement one would be on that would limit them to using a California compliant "assault" rifle?

I can see people living in rural areas using a 223 for coyotes, bobcats, hogs,,, to protect their livestock or crops.

Something with low recoil for fast followup shots.

~ EDIT ~

My wifes cousin lives in a rural area in California, where he raises chickens and other livestock. Sometimes a coyote will come close to his farm. I bet he would like to have a flat shooting, accurate, low recoil rifle like an AR-15.

Thought you couldn't have a pistol grip in Cali?

You can have all of the "evil features" you want as long as the magazine isn't detachable without a tool.

Now that basically every major AR manufacturer (S&W, Colt, etc) is making a CA compliant AR the people who wrote the assault weapons ban must be rather pissed :awe:

I just ordered an 80% AR 15 lower.
Now I can build a rifle that doesn't have to go through an FFL.

I'd build a pistol but since I have an M4, I don't want to chance "constructive possession" and get charged with having an SBR.

What do you do with the 80% lower? What machining is required?

I know a lot of people fold their own AK receivers which is apparently easy and a good way to get around running it through an FFL.

Well then, shootin' up logs and rocks?
I hang my targets on stands.
I hate idiots that take items (microwaves, TVs, etc) out to shoot and then leave them laying there when they leave.
When we go shooting, the wife and I always spend the last 1/2 to 1 hour cleaning up the site. We always leave with two full, large trash bags.

You have to mill out the magazine well IIRC.

Example.
There are "build parties" where a machinist will let you use his mill.

Thought pretty much everybody made "compliant" rifles by now but I guess they were just late to the show...
