We brought this little guy home yesterday from the local shelter. He's about 3 months old and is it looks like he's a cairn terrier mix. Very nice little guy but I think his stomach is a bit upset. He's having some nasty little puppy farts. We forgot to ask what he was being fed at the shelter so I think switching his food gave him a little digestive trouble.

Dogs do that when you change their diet. It will take him a few days to get used to what you're feeding him. Don't make a habit of switching his food often, keep him on the same stuff. Oh, and don't feed him people food.

I would also take him to the vet and get him neutered, shots, and general checkup.

We rescued our dog when she was 4 months old...she's 10 years old now.

The wife spent some time looking at foods and picked out a good one. I think it's Iams puppy chow or something like that. From what I understand it has more meat, less filler. My bet is the higher meat content is upsetting his stomach.

He's been good about the house training, he peed inside once and started to squat in the corner once. After scolding him about it and praising him every time he goes outside we haven't had an issue. He's started to whine and look worried when he needs to go. I don't want to say he's completely house trained yet but for having him 2 days I think we're making good progress. Now we just need to get it so we don't have to put his kennel in our bedroom so he won't whine all night.
