I said this before in the other thread. If it's a worthwhile accomplishment or contribution to the topic at hand, regardless of race they will be mentioned. There's no reason to specifically focus on a white man, black man, chinense man, or any other man just becase they invented the nutcracker and it happens to be "Insert Race Here" Month. Unless referring to civil right or cultural movements, most teachers never refer to a person's race, which is how it should be.
In NYS, HSs only spend 2 years covering the history of the WORLD. Yes, the entire history of the world in 2 years, and staying as far away from US History as possible. Stuff gets left out, and everyone gets the shaft. But I do remember learning about everything from Western Europe, Eastern Europe, to Southwest Asia, to Central America, to Austrailia. The "middle east" is covered, but you can't dedidcate an entire few months to it.
Specilization in an area is what college is for.
