I dunno why ok, but I upgraded my firmware to v2.6, I know there are no downgraders available for this (except for the retarded April fools one by pspspot..), but I read that its possible to run homebrew on it using GTA - LCS, has anyone tried it?
 
Some hombrew will run on 2.6 via GTA exploit. 2.7 patches it though, so don't upgrade.

Yes, you read that right. Firmware 2.7 patches a game's save/load function. That's how seriously Sony wants to stop homebrew exploits.
