93 Olds Cutlass Ciera, 3.3L v6, with fuel injection, no distributor cap, just a coil pack.. Spark plugs and wires have been fairly recently changed (maybe 20k miles before, but the prob was happening then as well).

Odd problem, went away for a while, now is coming back worse..
Runs perfect in park and neutral.. Dies when going into reverse or drive. If I hold give it some rpms and throw it in drive it will stall a little but then goes, but its a loud sound as if its about to die again, but if i give it enough gas, it will go..It gets worse the warmer the engine gets..
Like I said, it runs fine in neutral and park, but you get into a gear and it wants to die, and it gets worse as the engine gets warmer..
The previous problem with it only occurred when it was rainy out, and it did that yesterday as well (haven't tried to drive it today when it was nice out). It's my spare car so i'm not in much of a hurry to fix it, but I would like to keep it running as a just-in-case car.
A few friends mentioned the a fuel injector may be clogged, or one may be bad and the computer is sensing it and cuts it off when it tries to get more fuel..

Also, I listened and did a quick probe around to see if any vacuum hoses needed to be replaced, didnt see anything offhand, but I can't guarantee that's not an issue.

It started doing it on the way to work, so I took the freeway home because it won't choke out as long as I'm keepin a good speed on it, but once i get under 35 or so mph, it wants to get really rough, unless I throw it in neutral.. Maybe an idler problem?

Think some fuel injector cleaner might do the trick? If so, what would you guys recommend? And if not, what would any of you think the problem may be?

Bump for some help..
I took this car for a 180 mile trip, and it didn't cause a problem until about 70 miles into the trip, at a stop light.. I'm completely baffled on this one..

Your AIS (automatic idle speed) actuator is probably fine, from the sound of it, it sounds like you have a fuel problem, here's what you do, replace the fuel filter and get back to me, you may email me at roger@apartment808.com, I may disappear from the board for awhile again.

Sounds like a torque converter lockup solenoid problem to me. It is very common on early 90's GM vehicle. The reason it does stall in neutral or park is because the transmission is not loaded. Once you put it in gear the load of the transmission is too much for the engine to handle at low rpms.

Can you check the ECM for codes and post them here?
