Deskjet is an hp registered trademark just as laserjet. IBM registered deskstar and ultrastar for desktop and server hard disks respectively. Inkjet vs. deskjet is like tissue vs. kleenex. Sounds like someone needs some of the former. ;)

I know Canon made these. I assume bubble meant the the small color dots on your printed paper.

So the general idea behind inkjets is to shoot tiny, fluid blobs of ink onto the paper. The ink is held in a tiny, open nozzle where the surface tension is enough to prevent it from leaking out. To eject ink from this nozzle, there are 2 popular methods: 1) (bubblejet) inside the nozzle, there's a resistor that heats up, vaporizing ink and forming a ink-vapor bubble. As the bubble grows, it pushes just the right amt of ink out the nozzle; as it pops, the low pressure created draws more ink in; 2) (piezoelectric) there's this special material in the nozzle that expands & contracts when you hit it w/electricity... the expansion/contraction pushes ink out & draws more ink in.

But more to the point: this thread is now about cake. I love rich, chocolate lava cake with some vanilla ice cream. How about you guys?

Sigh... I really need to start paying more attention to the Originator column before clicking on this garbage.
