I'm sure many of you have known or been caught in a verbal fubar before that just didn't sound right. One of my favorites that comes to mind was from a friend of mine. I shall quote him as he does a better job of telling the story. :)
It all started out as a heated debate about striking autoworkers. A couple of years ago I was talking to some friends about a group of GM workers that were going on strike for a pay raise. what bothered me was that they were already making 60k a year for what was essentially unskilled labor. Now, I have this habit when I get deeply into a debate and the passion starts making it's way to the surface. Basically I start running words and phrases together for no good reason. In the middle of this debate I tried to say, "It's just scut work" and "Any monkey could do it!" at the same time. what came out was, "It's just scutmonkey work!" At this point in the debate all conversation stopped and everyone just stood there staring at me. "What?!?!?!?"
Anybody else experienced one of those wonderful verbal slips (sp?) that just didn't come out right or even sound right?

Uh....a Freudian slip is when you say what your subconscious is thinking rather than what you meant to say. Such as if you're talking to a women you're attracted to and instead of saying "beasts" you say "breasts". They tend to be sexual in nature, since Freud was a big perv. :D

What your friend did is just talking too fast and stumbling. Unless he's got something for scutmonkeys.
