i tried to text to the the fox news banner thingy 32688 or something and it said something about i had the wrong plan
i dunno what that means
 
i got one just after midnight... damnit I don't have a text msg plan and I gotta pay everytime they msg me. I never answer them cause that would just cost more. I don't block because of work.

If you have to have them because of work and you receive a lot of unwanted messages, why not subscribe to a texting plan with, say, 100 messages a month. Depending on how many messages you receive, it may actually save you a few bucks.

All of the dumbasses who were trying to text the guy who used to have my number said something along the lines of "happy new year." And then when I text them back telling them they have the wrong number, they text me again to tell me they were trying to reach Mike. Why the HELL would I care who they're trying to reach? 😕

This happened on Christmas and Thanksgiving too. Nothing says "barely acquaintances" like sending a holiday text greeting to someone who didn't bother to tell you they changed phone numbers months ago.
