1024X768 and only 40 - 100 fps

leadtek 6600gt pci-e oc 615 - 1.16
p4 3.0 lga775 (overclocking seems to make gameplay worse)
1 gig ocz dual cahnnel enhanced latency

I dont understand y I cant get better gameplay. I have tweaked source with all the commands to increas fps. Even with around 80 fps I get this lagging video and sometimes drops to below 40 fps on 1024x768. That seems rediculous to me. What are you fps with 6600gt and in what res

thats weird my comp gets like 50 with a 9800pro and a intel 3.4 at 12x10 and no aa but on dust 2 it starts to really lag
 
Update your drivers. Anything higher than the 75.xx drivers have specific HL2 optimisations which help quite a bit.
