Question y-cruncher for stability test

I'm trying to stabilize my system and have been told several times to try y-cruncher. I've searched and found it but all I see is people bench-marking with it? Tried reading through a little bit of the page and I don't understand how it's ran as a stability test. Currently I'm using P95 Large FFTs to test my IF on my Ryzen 3k chip. I'm ultimately looking to test a 4x8GB b-die dual rank configuration.

Here is the page:

An easy way to do this would be to install the Phoronix Test Suite and then run
phoronix-test-suite install y-cruncher
phoronix-test-suite stress-run y-cruncher

Also, I think c-ray stresses your system more. It's the only CPU benchmark I know where my system becomes actually unresponsive for short periods.

No thanks, I'd rather just run the stand alone y-cruncher for now, but thank you.

So the option to stress components is in the program, option 1..

Option:
1 - Component Stress Tester

Sub menu:
2 - Memory

Option:
0 - Start Stress-Testing

Well that was fairly simple, ooof

You can calculate pi to test stability. Just be warned that it uses a lot of RAM on 1g or 2g places, so you are testing both RAM and CPU. Prime95 smallFFTs tests only CPU/cache out to maybe L2? Prime95 LargeFFTs, in my opinion, doesn't do much on Ryzen compared to Blend so I'm skeptical about it as a decent RAM/IF test.

In any case if you have a crash in y-cruncher Pi to 2g places (or so) that you do not have in Prime95 SmallFFTs, odds are it is your RAM or IF/memory controller.

I've enabled all tests. Keeping HWiNFO64 open while testing to see if any WHEA errors show up.. I've had tests pass without crashing thinking things were stable.. just found out about the WHEA trick today. lol the shame
