I'm betting after bragging about it, some other student starts telling the "victim's" parents and the parents or other adults threaten the student by not giving recommendations or scholarships if they don't make a statement against the teacher. People are petty.

The consent laws in this country need to be fixed. We need to stop pretending that people under the age of 18 are devoid of sexual organs and hormones.

What I find stupid is how the american media always splatters names and photos of accused people. What's the point of the process if you've already been sentenced by the media.

The specific charge against Wentzky is sexual battery with a student 16 or 17 years of age, which is outlined below:
SC Code Of Law 16-3-755 Section B:
(B) If a person affiliated with a public or private secondary school in an official capacity engages in sexual battery with a student enrolled in the school who is sixteen or seventeen years of age, and aggravated coercion or aggravated force is not used to accomplish the sexual battery, the person affiliated with the public or private secondary school in an official capacity is guilty of a felony and, upon conviction, must be imprisoned for not more than five years.
