Goddamit. It'll be a filthy port.

How depressing. One of the icons of PC gaming, a game that most of us grew up with and adore, is going to be run through a greasy profit-generating mass-appeal processor, and ejected as shit.

You're probably right, but I have to give them the benefit of the doubt: this could be extremely good news. Let's wait and see.

X-Wing alliance honestly kind of sucked. Entirely too much focus on the Irish Space family drama, not much really interesting with the rebellion, and then for not adequately explained reason you turn into Lando Calrissian for the last mission.

While I'd certainly pay for a remake of TIE-Fighter, I'm not sure I'd pay $50 - the missions were epic and all, but in retrospect the star wars space flight sims feel awfully constrained compared to something like Freespace. Only 2 primaries, and like 6 secondaries. There's just not all that much actually there.

As for Endor, and Endor-like situation might be interesting, but the actual battle of Endor would be awful. Everyone knows the score, so the entire imperial team is going to camp that entrance like you wouldn't believe, and you can't count on Storm Troopers and Tie Fighters in a multiplayer game to have sudden plot-induced stupidity and awful aim.

Looks like you probably don't have to worry about that:

"Got a back-catalog announcement on Monday. It's not X-Wing! I'm heading THAT rumor off at the pass! 10:11 AM Aug 7th from web "

Errr... So it's not X-Wing, it's not Tie Fighter.

The only other game I'd really want to see a graphical update on is Dark Forces. Guess we'll have to wait for an announcement direct from Lucasarts...

For now I'll take it for what it is, a tease. Just a tease. Teasers often don't put out. I'd love for them to do a remake though.
