How do you or can you play XVID files? What program will play them? I have tried Windows Media Player, Real Player, and DIVX but none of em work.. is there a codec for them to play? Do I need some program to convert them or what? I am so lost... thanks for any help in advance

I downloaded XVid, the program.... now how do I make it play the movies? I have tried and no luck, using WMA, Real Player One and Divx... what do I do to play the movies? Thanks

In general the binaries are in their source codec and need to be compiled. You can find some of the latest compiled builds here. Click on the Xvid binaries link and then click on the xvid-date link which should download an exe file that you can run to install xvid.

Make it easy and download the Nimo codec pack.. Make sure both XVid codecs are checked to install. Thats all. Should play in WMP.

See my post above.

Why are some of the movies coming up all green? Blurry as well but the screen starts out as green and the movie makes that colot go away and the graphics suck... it's been with more then movie... HELP?! I got BS player and tried everything else...

99% of the problems with playing movies on a pc is related to codec issues. Once you the proper codecs, th e movie will play just fine. I suggest you take a look here for codecs & filter packs.

Damn LOTR 2 still plaus green.... I fixed some other movies though that didn't work, they now play. Odd I will keep trying with codecs though

I have..

xVid
Nimo Codec Pac
dsp2dshow - not sure how this works..

Then just reulat codecs that download themselves. I use Windows Media Player, Real Player and DivX Player

I just downloaded DIE ANOTHER DAY and it too had a green screen, then went clear and then blurred. The opening scene is in water, and the water was in every screen, blurring everything. Really odd, just like with LOTR The Two Towers

Now theres no sound with that prog?! Beofre with different programs I had sound, but no picture...

What is going on...

ac3filter and xvid solved all my problems. Don't install Nimo, I know for me, it made some of my movies that played just fine, not work.
