Note to all who claim "they burned at 4x flawlessly." It is NOT enough for your burner to burn SOMETHING on the disc without a hiccup.

Here is a GOOD test: Burn a movie onto the DVD. Be sure to burn a movie that is close to, or exactly the maximum size the DVD can hold. (Best to do this by taking a long commercial disc and squeezing it with software like DVD2one, CloneDVD or whatever).

NEXT, take that burned DVD and place it in another DVDrom drive (not the one that burned it). Use DVD Decrypter to try and extract the movie back onto your hard drive. (ISO mode). If this goes without any errors, then the burn is good. If errors are encountered, the burn is bad.

I have seen a LOT of DVDs that SEEM to burn OK but are actually flawed. Sometimes they'll even play OK in a DVD player. But DVDDecrypter is a more sensitive test, and it will automatically test the entire disc (which is usually difficult when playing it in a DVD player, given all the different paths you can take).

Yes, I agree with you. The movie may read or play fine with burner, but may not play perfectly with other DVD-rom drive or player. Most of the movies I have not exceed the DVD size, they play fine. However, few that are full the DVD disc play with block or hiccup. Well, I will stay way from Xtreme. No more next time.
