XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 kit

As you can see from my pictures, my radiator is outside my case, mounted on the back. It does come with all of the mounting hardware to mount it outside of the case, so you are good there.

The block works really well with my i7 860, I am sure it will work fine for yours as well.

The only other thing you will need other than the kit is possibly a silver coil, and if you want to use it, some UV additive for the water (not required though). And distilled water of course.

No, it was not hard to install at all. It did come with the adapters to mount the reservoir on the outside or on the inside of the case, came with plenty of tubing (I had over a foot left over when I was done), and comes with a ATX power adapter to use to power it on separately at first to get the water through the loop and do leak testing.

Like I said, the only documentation I got with it was the manual for the XSPC Rasa water block, but you can look at the instruction manuals for the pump/reservoir combo and radiator on their website.

Thanks for ur help. Its greatly appreciate it. Is there anything else I need for my i7 and 8800gtx is there better tubing or anything else that u recommend? I think I am going to take the plunge and buy it. I wanna mount it on the top of my case for the radiator.

I am really happy to see these kits are getting more people to consider and adventure into water cooling.

In fact, due to their popularity and what seems to be easy implementation, we have decided to add water cooling kits to our test schedule for this year. So a big thanks to you in the community for helping us focus our testing and reviews on what you guys find interesting!

The tubing that is included is perfectly fine, the only reason I can see to get different tubing is if you do not want clear and want another color/UV reactive tubing or something. The only thing I can think of to recommend for the kit is some good thermal paste. The stuff that is included with the kit will work fine, but I ordered some shin etsu to use instead. I am sure the included stuff works well enough though. That and the silver coil I listed earlier, or some biocidal drops to add to the water.

Good luck with the new kit if you get one.

I am definitely going to get one. I am going to order today. What's shin etsu?
biocidal drops? Sorry I am a complete noob. I completely appreciate all the help. Do I need to order clamps? I remember when I put the Coolit pump together I needed clamps. Also is there anything needed for the leak test? Tools needed to put together? How do I check to see if it fits on top of my thermaltake case? Sorry I am asking questions from my iPhone as my Pc is not together since I upgraded the components. Andy MacBook pro is out for repair. So it's hard for me to do extensive research.

You do not need to order clams, the kit comes with them.

Biocidal drops or a silver coil are what you will want to use in the water to prevent any algae or anything from growing in the system. I actually use both (since I ordered both), but here is the link for the silver coil -

http://detonator.dynamitedata.com/c...l_999_Fine_Silver_Tubing_Reservoir_Strip.html

These are the biocidal drops you could use as well - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11..._Additive.html

As far as tools needed, you will need a knife to cut the tubing to length when you figure out your loop, a screwdriver, and maybe other tools to mod your case if you need to (depending on where you decide to put the radiator).

Shin Etsu is just one of many thermal compounds out there to put on the waterblock. The kit does come with some, but based on some reviews I ordered this stuff to use instead - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/89...?tl=g8c127s846

There are plenty of others too, and as I said the included paste will probably work just fine.

I am kind of a noob to water cooling as well, but as far as leak testing I had it powered on by a separate power supply (they include an adapter with the kit for the ATX plug, so you can power the kit on separately and prime it with water and do leak testing. I had the blue UV dye in the water, and I just had it installed on my motherboard with white rags around the block, below the radiator, and under the reservoir to check for leaks. I had none at all after an overnight run, and I have been running it ever since then with no troubles.

Thanks for all Ur help. I guess I will be doing this as well. Was it easier to install with the case gutted out?

No problem.

I did not completely gut my case, but I did have to take the motherboard out to get the waterblock on (my case does not have the access to the backside of the socket, which would have really been nice). Once the block was on I did the install with everything in there except the video card, and some 5 1/4 covers off of the front of my case. I just made sure that the hose runs (in the pictures) were loose enough to get the video card out of there. I made them just right, as the 5870 in the pictures has been replaced with a 6970 crossfire setup. I did not have to do anything with the water loop, just gently moved the tubes out of the way to fit the giant video cards in there.

Good luck with your kit when you get it.

Where do u run the tubing if u install the radiator outside the case? Do u have to drill Any holes for the tubing from the radiator. Sorry for the noob questions. I am about to do it. I am excited. Are u going to cool the cards?

Well, my case had two holes for tubing with rubberized edges on the back, but they were on top of each other and I could not get both tubes to go out of those and use the fittings and the tubing that came with the kit. What I ended up doing was running one of the tubes out of those holes, and the other through one of the PCI slots on the back of the case. It is not the most elegant setup, but it works just fine and will hold me over until I get a new case and rebuild the loop for the new case (probably will get a corsair 800D most likely). It would be easy enough to use a unibit or other drill bit to make a hole if you did not have one though. or just run both of them out an empty PCI slot.

I have heard nothing bad about those kits, I am sure aigomorla will have more insight into those than I could personally. The price is a bit up there in comparison to the XSPC, but maybe it is that much of a better kit to warrant the extra cost.

I am going to go with the rs kit. My only hesitation now is between the 240 vs 360. Just because I know the 240 can go inside my case as opposed to the 360 outside my case. Not sure about performance difference.

I got the XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 kit running I7-950 3.8ghz. Kit seems okay but I would keep close eye on the pump. There been a few users having issues with it.

I was now looking at the rx kit. Is there a better pump. I guess I won't be buying the kit anymore. Is the pump really not good?

I have not had a single issue with mine. I read a few things about the pump being noisy and such, but mine is working perfectly fine.

Thank you for the input. I think I may go with the rx240 so that I can fit it in the front of my case. I finally got my macbook pro back today so I will be able to do extensive research now. thank you all. I think I pretty much got everything I needed. the only thing would be that I want the tubes to be red for added color. is there one recommended?

Well, you could buy red tubing for the kit, or you could get red dye for the clear tubing that comes with it. Feser makes the blue UV dye that I am using, but they make red dye as well. Its not expensive for a bottle, and should last for a few changes of water.

It does lose its UV luminescence over time from what I have read, but mine is still glowing UV blue just fine, though I have only been using my kit for like 2 months or so now.

I honestly dont know, I havent gotten that far with my kit. I know people who run the silver coil/biocidal drops that I do and only change their water once a year or so. So far I have not seen a reason to, and I have not even had to top it off or anything either.

I really appreciate all Ur help. It's been great. Thank you. I will be ordering the rx240 kit just because I want to be able to
Mount it inside the case in the front instead of the two fans I have there right now. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

where can I get the red tubing for the kit? what size am I looking for? I keep reading fitting etc. not sure. I am ready to buy the rx240 kit. just need the last help with the tubing. I want the red tubing or the red dye. thanks.
