Can I borrow your time machine? I wouldn't mind picking up those games to see for myself.

heheh, point taken. i am basing my opinions off of previous incarnations of said titles. but nfl fever 2004 got horrid reviews in egm, while madden is still king of the mountain

I only agree with you on Fever. That P.O.S. has yet to impress me. The last Inside Drive was a decent game though. Not the best out there but certainly not the worst.

Links 2003 and the original Amped rated 80% at Gamerankings. That seems like a good rating to me. Also, NHL Rivals and Top Spin are brand new games. No previous incarnations.

Or is it a coincidence that there's no such thing as the 2K series anymore?
The series is still around... They just renamed it ESPN NFL Football, because they licensed the rights to use all of the ESPN stuff.

they already had the liscense. they changed the name for marketing purposes in hopes that they could compete with madden
Actually... They obtained the license too late to make the change NFL2k3, or to implement all of the "ESPN flavor" that they wanted to.

That was exactly my point :)

So... Your point was that because Sega renamed their series, hoping to garner more sales, is proof that Madden is a better product?

Or is it that XSN cannot succeed without the Madden series being a part of it? (What that has to do with Sega's series, is beyond me.)

At any rate, Xbox Live is a huge success... Without Madden.

(Keep in mind that that Madden is my favorite football video game... It's just a shame that EA and MS can't come to an agreement about online play.)

No Madden = no success.

It's just that simple.

Not everyone is a Madden fanboi. EA's glory days of being sports king has long passed.

this opinion supported strongly by sales figures.

oh wait, it's not.

Just because it gets outsold doesn't mean it's a better game

Even EA's NCAA Football 2003 outsold any other football title... :p

The Owner Mode in Madden 2004 looks cool though...

first of all it is a better game. second of all, "sports king," as said in the post i quoted, is measured by sales figures. thank you, come again

The only game I am interested in (for XSN) is Amped 2. The first one was good but could use some improvements (and it was hard as hell too). Anyway, I expect these problems to have been fixed in the second version. I saw videos of Top Spin a few days ago and I can see myself playing that, it actually looked like it may be fun. I can also see myself playing Links but I might just lean towards Outlaw Golf 2 over Links. I agree that MS is definately headed in the right direction and it also seems like they are pouring more money into their past few and future games to make sure they are good games and not flops like a few of their first Xbox games. I am sure I will buy Amped 2, I might just wait for the price to fall first.

Which game is better is all a matter of opinion... Why are we arguing about which one you may like better???

Besides... This thread is not about Madden, it's about XSN. Make your own thread if you want to discuss which is better.
