I am going to get a XPS Gen 2 soon but the prices are really high. Do any of you guys know where i can get discount coupons so the prices will go down. Also do you know when the sale for it will start/end.

Thanks

First, there is no point in bumping your own thread 26 minutes after you create it.
Second, you need to check the deal sites or Hot Deals forums.
From Techbargainsdotcom:
$750 off select online Inspiron Notebooks $1899+
Coupon Code: <COUPON CODE DELETED> Exp Tu 6/21/05 5:59am CT or after 3000 uses

Sorry and thank you

Hate to ruin it, but the coupon code doesn't apply to XPS2, highest is the 9300.

From Dell's rules on it:

This Coupon code is valid on these speical e-value codes only: 11111- i6000A1, 11111-i700mA1, 11111-i9300A1, 11111-i600mA1.

most times Dell gives out coupons at the end of the fiscal quarter

what you want to do is configure a PC for yourself and check Hot Deals and other bargain sites on a regular basis. When a deal comes up see how the price of your configuration changes. I did this for almost a year until I finally bought a 6000. Two weeks later the same configuration was $400 more money. Dell is notorious for changing prices and many times a "sale" would result in higher prices than no sale. The big sales are the $750 off $1499 or $1999 which comes up 3-4 times a year. But dell always plays around with upgrade prices so prices are always changing.

There are some crazy deals with the employee and affiliate program (EEP or EPP), but I have not a single clue how to get a coupon code. I do know how to log on as an employee. I mean they are 35% off a discounted employee price on whatever you want. Any ideas?

I have a question about the coupons. It only applies the 9300 and bellow when i plug on the e-value code for the 9300 i configuare it and apply the code. does the $500 mail-in rebate still apply even if i use the code?

bump

About 3 weeks ago the XPS laptop I wanted was like $800 cheaper than it is today after some coupons online and what not

I'm waiting for another chance now that I have the money

Just want to reafirm what was said above.

Often the coupons don't apply to XPS-2 but check and see if your employer has an EPP deal with dell.

Mine recently had the XPS-2 base system (which is still good!) for only $1280. I almost brought it even though I own and am very happy with my M70.

Also go to the small business web site. Sign up for their catalog and for their email news letter. Do it several times with different email address. Small business is king of the "one time use coupon". Often for 20% or more off.....

I will have 2 of these for sale pretty soon when they come in, I'll be asking for the going e-bay price.

upgraded to 1024 GB ram, and 7200 60GB Hard Drive, only the 2Ghz Pentium M though.

Whats a EEP and how do i know if i have one.

EEP is an employee discount program for large corporations. Go to www.dell.com/eppbuy to see how much of a discount you can get.

If you qualify of course. Although some people say they were able to order without belonging to a qualifying company.
