HERE
Now I do need to say this first. OCZ ram and the overclockerzstore have very bad reputations. I have listed this however, because I have been hearing decent things about their pc3000, and decided to leave it up to my fellow AT members to decide what they thought of this. OCZ has new owners and perhaps that will translate into better product/service. Or perhaps not. I guess we'll see.
EDIT:
Just recieved my stick of PC3000. Unstable at 150 cas2.5 on my 8k7a at normal timings. I am totally floored. How could this be. How could this ram ever get classified as 183MHz ram. I was told when I called to rma it that I will get my money back once they test it and confirm that it's unstable. Then it hit me. Is this going to be the same test that allowed it to be classified as pc3000 in the first place? When I asked what the test was, I was told they run it through Sandra. Sandra has it's place, but it's a poor tool to quaify ram at a speed with. I guess I'll see what happens.
FINAL EDIT:
Did some final tests before I sent the ram back.
After each test, I put my crucial pc2100 back in to confirm that it indeed is the ram causing the problem.
All were done with ?normal? timings, Epox 8k7a 7/11 bios
150 cas2 2.9v: posted and then would freeze
150 cas2.5 2.9v: loaded windows and then started throwing errors.
140, 138 cas2.5 2.6v(default): loaded windows no errors, would not complete first test in 3dmark2000.
Even at 133 cas2.5 2.6v normal timing: would not get past first test of 3dmark2000.
Scary stuff
