When I moved from a xp2500 (overclocked to xp3000) to a xp3200 I was disappointed by the small increase in performance I saw. The only game which showed a big increase was Quake3, all of the others only increased by usually 5-8fps! 🙁

I just found some of my benchmark results:-

sempron 3100,xp3200, xp3000, xp2500

halfe life 2 = 90,76,71,66
doom3 = 64,64,61,59 (need a more powerful video card for Doom3)
farcry = 81,74,71,65
ut2004 = 114,105,100,91
quake3 = 305,279,257,250

save your money, and invest towards A64. The 3200+ will bring you negligable performance increase. You could try overclocking your fsb from 166mhz to 200mhz if you wanted to.
