XP2700 Upgrade to AMD 64 Bit cpu ?

Im looking to upgrade, I notice that the clock speeds of the newer 64 bit cpu's arent that much higher than the 2700 that i have now, is there a large benefit to upgading, how much more perfomance can I expect from a 3400 64Bit?

Lots of benchmarks around the web comparing a XP3200+ which is slightly faster than you CPU to the A64s For gaming you will see impressive gains, particularly in CPU intensive titles.
