So waht do ya think?? Is the extra cashe on the Barton advantageous to the casual computer user who plays few games. But uses the internet and productivity software. And does the current avail.hardware really take advantage of Bartons extra cashe? Or is the xp2600 better for the minimalist gamer? I have a BioStar M7VIF board I'am going to use ...just undecided on which chip...

If you're going to overclock you're nuts not to get the 2500. Check my sig for the biggest reason. I'd advise upgrading that motherboard and probably RAM too.

Thanks for the reply...no I'am not going to overclock..just want stability for reliable long operating hours preformance. So Iam looking to operate in the middle of the board/chip window of operation. I know the VIF isn't the greatest but I got the darn thing and want to use it. Just not shure what chip would make the most sense for that mob...

My last board was the M7VIF....there was no option for a 333mhz FSB (which the 2500+ is and half of the 2600+ are too)...maybe they released a newer revision I dunno....the chipset KT333 seemed to be named as such because it could run 333mhz DDR RAM (PC2700).
