xp2600+ crashes when ran at 333FSB?

running winxp on an ECS K7VTA3. I have used this board plenty of times before, but when I set the jumpers to run at 166 (333 thanks to the AMD math) my system crashes regularly. When I notch it down to 133 everything seems to run fine. One note: my cpu is running slightly over 100 degrees F even when I notch down the FSB.

Any ideas?

what mem do u have?

you could trying bumping up the vcore, if that's possible

it most likely runs at 133fsb by default, and you are OCing it when you set it to 166.

Are you sure that's a 333fsb 2600+? There were 3 different ones, IIRC.
266FSB Tbred 2.13Ghz
333FSB Tbred 2.08Ghz
333FSB Barton 1.93Ghz

I want to say 2100...its about 2 or 3 years old. Probably time for an upgrade huh?
