This board has no multiplier or voltage adjustments, so forget about o/c'ing this board. OTOH, this combo is only fifteen dollars more than the best price for the CPU, alone, on pricewatch. If the motherboard is nothing more than stable and reliable for what it does, it's a dirt cheap solution for a damned fast machine. You could get the combo, and sell the board for enough to buy something else useful.
 
Actually this board will OC quite nicely by just adjusting the fsb from 333 to 400, and viola you got a dirt cheat 3300+ setup

No it's not that great of a motherboard. Tweakers/overclockers will probably want something better. But for the price, it's hard to beat. It's only a few more $$ than just a 2600+, and if you really hate the mobo just ebay it for around $30 and buy a better one.
 
Nice deal even if the board is not highly overclockable. Like a poster said above you can always sell the board and use the proceeds towards a better mobo.
 
I just went and bought the ECS K7VTA3 + XP2500 combo for 75, is it worth it for me to go back and exchange it for this?

Also, where did you see this, I'm looking at the Fry's ad on ocregister.com and can't find this deal. Link?

One of these days, a flood of easterners will picket Fry's HQ and demand nothing less than a store in every major eastern city. If not, mass rioting would ensue.

Maybe some of you who are near Fry's stores could mention any of their stores that will take phone orders for any of their local deals. Outpost.com never even comes close so I'm sure there would be many here who would gladly pay shipping charges to be able to get in on any of these fantastic deals that they offer.
 
I want to jump on this but I don't really need an upgrade until the summer... Hmmm, do you think this is a one time thing, or do you think they will keep having nforce 2 ultra deals like this?

Hard to tell... the KT333 board seems to be the regular deal. Frys has been pushing AMD combos lately, though.

I'd get this, but they're going to open a new Fry's about 5 miles from my house (Concord Ca.) in 2 weeks and I'm hoping for a Grand Opening Sale special deal.
This store was first planed over 2 years ago and I have been driving by to check on progress since then. Been a long wait!
 
I just got back from the fountain valley CA fry's......picked up these combos:

ECS K7VTA3 (KT333) & OEM Barton 2500+ $74.99

Shuttle AN35N Ultra & retail boxed 2200+ $99.99

I figure to sell the ECS for about $35 shipped and the 2200+ for about $50 shipped.

That leaves me with the Shuttle & Barton 2500+ for right about $100. A sweet deal IMO!

I still don't know why they're selling the Shuttle board (400fsb) with a 2200+ (266fsb) that just don't make sense...but that's fry's for ya.

When the store in The City of Industry opened some people waited at least 30-45 min just for parking to get into the store for long OOS deals. 🙂

Good thing I only swung by there... didn't want to waste all that time looking for parking and such.
