Tell me what you guys know about this chip....if anything.

It all depends on the ram and mobo. If you have pc2700, set it to 166fsb and an 11.5 multi, and see if it boots at default vcore. Have fun from there

You have the infamous xp2100+ throughbred B that everyone is talking about and buying. I have one also. I have Soltek nforce2 board. I just kept the default multiplier, and changed FSB in the BIOS to 166, and I now have xp2700+! Have fun with that chip.

Hey Guys, to start, Thanks for the Replies

My Rig Combo is this:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Version 2.0
AMD XP2100 stepping 0301 (I am excited to hear it is a good chip too)
Kingston Hyper X PC3000 512 MB Chip
SLK-800 with YS-Tech 80mm adjustable fan
Antec True Power 330W PSU
and the rest of the goods.
I went ahead and listened to lots of your recommendations and bought good stuff to successfully overclock.

I sure hope I get a good clock. freshspace so as I take it just by bumping up the FSB you will achieve an XP 2700+??? So that would mean the potential of this chip is high right?
I sure hope.
I am a NEWBIE to actually overclocking so give me some settings to try to start. Such as the FSB bump to 166, that will be my first. Anything else please let me know such as multipliers, ram settings, etc

you should be able to get your FSB up in the 180-190's with that ram (altho i had alot of trouble with hyper x and my msi nforce and hear kingston only supports the epox nforce board nothing else, not to scare u but just fyi).

i have corsair 2700LL ram and i'm running it at 190FSB stable, i run my multi at 11x.

That's the one that I have and it runs close to 2.3ghz. 2255=11x205. You'll probably need to go 11.5x or 12x, depending on how high your ram will go. Who knows! You may hit 200 with yours.

Nice system. I have pretty similar specs to yours, except I have an older version of the A7N8X-Deluxe.
Everybody has their own method of overclocking. I test for max fsb first and then raise the multiplier to get max with cpu.
*Overclocking can kill your CPU. Especially when you are raising the voltage.* Its not likely, but certainly possible.
First make sure you have Asus Probe from the utility disk that came with your mb installed. Keep it running during this process and watch your temps closely. Set your YS-Tech on high.
In bios set everything to "user define" and "aggressive."
Set cpu/memory ratio to 100%, AGP to 66MHz.
Set memory to Cas 2-2-2-6, with 2.7V.
Multiplier real low for now- 10x, and 1.8V for your cpu (you can go 1.85V, but watch temps closely).
FSB - 166, make sure it posts, then raise it in 5MHz increments. When it won't get into Windows anymore put fsb at last setting that worked. Run Memtest86 (tests memory) through 2-10 loops (depending on how thorough you want to be). If there's errors drop fsb 5MHz and test again.
If there's no errors start bumping up the multiplier until it won't get in to Windows. Then set multiplier at the last setting that worked and run Prime95 (tests cpu) for 2-12 hours (depending on your patience and attitude toward testing. I run it overnight). If you get any errors the test will stop and you can lower the multi and test again.
Then run 3DMark01 to make video is stable and play some newer games if you do that kind of thing.
