XP2000+ @ 1775GHz so far, where will it end?

Well just put together a XP2000+ setup and I'm up to 142 FSB@1.75v at 39C at idle. I'm going to sit here a couple of days just to see what happens. Where do think I'll end up? Any advice?

Generally the AGOGA Athlons max out at 1750-1780MHz with air cooling, and 1840-1860MHz with good water cooling. There are a few rare Athlons (one out of every 30?) that will do 2GHz with high performance water cooling. A guy over on Hardocp destroyed four processors before he found one that could do 2.0GHz in his Vapochill.

Have you run Prime95 for a few hours to ensure that you are not experiencing any cpu errors (which can cause instability and/or slow you down)?

No, just ran siSoft Sandra just to see what I would get. So, you think where I have it now(1775 MHz) will be close to the max?

I'll run that Prime95 and post the results. Can't say I want to burn this baby($289) up, but 39C at idle didn't seem too high.

Squisher,

Just because 1760-1780 is average doesn't mean that you're at the max now...you might make it to 1800. Though before you clock it higher, I would perform some further testing to ensure that it is stable under load now (i.e. no errors under Prime95).

Right you were, 142FSB gave a ton of errors after five minutes. I've been running at 138 for about half an hour without any errors.

But, I have a lot of stuff turned up like memory at CAS2(it's only rated 2.5), fastest setting, and stock voltage. Also cpu is at 1.75 volts. This mobo will let me turn up volts on both.

I would up the voltage on the cpu and on the ram if you can....that will raise the temp alittle more for you...

"It will end in fire."

Sorry, j/k. btw anyone know where that comes from? 🙂

No fire so far, but I've gotten it to 141MHz FSB@1.80v with temps at 44C running Prime95 for a couple hours now.
