Newegg has an Xp1800 Thoroughbred listed, I was under the impression that only 2200s and up were Thoroughbred.... am I wrong?

Supposedly AMD has converted their entire line to the TBred-B core now.

Yes. You can tell if the core is Thoroughbred by the part number.

AXDA1700xxx would be a Thoroughbred 1700+

AX1700xxx would be a Palomino 1700+

The lowest Thoroughbred you can get from Newegg is the 1700+.

Yes, but we haven't seen it filter down into the lower MHz ranges yet, they're probably still unloading stock from the first batch.

The later stepping A's are getting to 2ghz or higher on average. There is always a few duds out there with people only getting around 1.8ghz. They are much better steppings and weeks compared to the original 2200+ reviews quite awhile ago. The newer A's do fairly well now compared to the original 2200+ a's. Still not like the B's. But I would get one over the Palomino's.

luckily you pretty much have no choice anymore 🙂

What about the model numbers that begin with AXP?

At googlegear, the Xp1800 model number isn't AX or AXDA, its confusing me lol.
