XP1600 Steppings for overclocking

Which stepping is the best for overclocking.

I just recived my from Newegg it says

AX1600DMT3C
AGOIA0213CPGW
Y8052180385

Can anyone translate that for me and tell me if this seems to be a good chip to overclock.

Thanks Micael

From what I have read over at amdforums.com it appears that you've got a good one. I believe week 13 and Y stepping are the best. But I am no expert.
I just got my green
AX1600DMT3C
AGOIA0212XPUW
Y8034970141
I'm wondering how well mine will overclock with my MSI KT3A Ultra ARU and Crucial 2100 ram.

superdave your RAM will probably hold you back as I'm using the Crucial2100DDR with my 1600+AGOIA and 8K3A and@ 166FSB I think the RAM is about topped out. JMicaelK73 did you decide on a board and RAM yet? BTW I think you'll get 166FSB@ default Vcore with that CPU on a board with a 1/5 divider and good 2700DDR memory no problem.

Sweet, I have mine@2.6v what's the voltage on your's? BTW I have seen a couple of guys running Crucial 2100DDR even higher (higher voltage too) but with ram prices being what they are now I don't want to be looking for memory anytime soon because I fried mine, and I wouldn't expect Crucial to replace it since I would be at fault for pushing well beyond spec 😉

DAPUNISHER, I have been looking at the EPoX-8K5A3+, I like all the new futures that I have like the new raid and so, but wonder if I'll be just as well off with the 8K5A2 or 8K5A2+. Don't know if I need the Raid future, since I don't know enough about Raid, I know I can use it as backup, but all I really want is to be able to have more HD. Other than that it's Abit KX7, it might come down to the price.
Will the addons on the EPox hold me back with the OC or not.

Thanks Micael

Well, taking in to consideration your desired usage, I would say either the KX7 or the 8K5A2 would be great. There isn't much to choose between, the KX7 has 4DDR slots to the 8K5A2's 3 slots but the 8K5A2 has USB 2.0 and the Abit doesn't, perhaps the overclocking edge belongs to Epox but it would most likely be very small if any. Mwave.com does have the 8K5A2 for 86$ and the KX7 for 88$ so I'd say it's a win/win situation 😉

Thanks DAPUNISHER, I have been looking at the prices for the EPoX boards @ Newegg and they are higher there. How is Mwave.com's service, newer used them.

Thanks Micael

I used to do massive business with Mwave before I heard about Newegg and they have always had a perfect record with me. I still order from them depending on wether they can beat Newegg's prices after shipping costs, in fact I bought my 8K3A from them because they had it for 15$ less shipped UPS 3 day select than Newegg's price shipped at the time. also they have a Logitech multimedia/internet keyboard and optical mouse usb/ps2 combo for 25$ and they don't stack shipping so I use then for all of my clients builds unless they have specific preference/request.
