OK, first will both fit ? If so which is the best for cooling, and which fan is the quietest. Panaflo is my first choice for fans, but ??? And OC speed is secondary, since I don't think its pertinent in my case.....

this is copied of the thermalright website in the xp-120 section: K8N Neo2 Platinum - Not Compatible (caps mechanically obstruct pipe.) so, i guess no xp-120, unless someone else here has a different experience with this. it looks like you will need either an xp-90 or xp-90c, they will fit.

I don't believe the XP-120 fits on the Neo2..

Between the XP-90 and 90c, just get the 90..

Lighter weight, cheaper, and cools within about 2C of each other..

I couldn't get a 120 to fit on my NEO2...the vcore caps are in the way. A 90 fit's real nice, although I wouldn't go with the copper model due to weight. That's one of the reasons I gave up my Z 7200cu...too heavy compared to the cooling.

If you are looking for the best peformance I would go with an XP90. Then again you want silence. I hear that the XP120 will fit as I have friends who use such. If you want silence go wit hthe 120.

Unlike the normal XP-90, which doesn't benefit much from noisy fans, the XP-90C can spread out the heat more and have more benefit from higher CFM and noisier fans.

Link?

And even with a higher CFM fan, cooling isn't much better.

Comparing an XP-90 with a low RPM/CFM fan and the 90c with a highRPM/ CFM fan isnt fair..

Get the XP-90.

it's all theory..... high cfm xp-90c beats high cfm xp-90 more than a low cfm comparison (in which it did)

The XP-90c is supposed to have the same cooling as the XP-120, but in a smaller package. I don't find it too heavy. Not compared to the clamping force of the clips on todays HSF's. :p I also use a 2,200 RPM fan with no problems.

aluminum vs copper
it goes something like:
aluminum can conduct well and store a large amount of heat
copper can conduct VERY well but store less heat

if the heat is removed from the copper at a nice speed, the copper can conduct the heat away from the core at a good rate too

i read that somewhere

Not sure of the copper vs alum diif, but my xp 90c fits very well, doesn't seem too heavy and does a great job of cooling.

Goes on very easily as well.

Actually tests have found that the xp-90c cools better than the xp-120. Now time to wait and see if they come out with an xp-120c.
