For the past few weeks, Windows XP has been restarting when i select the "Turn Off" option from the Shutdown screen. Selecting either "turn off" or "restart" will make it restart, so there is no way to make it shut down. I've been going through the hassle of popping in a floppy disk, restarting my machine (since I have no alternatives), then turning off the power when I get a "invalid system disk" option at the BIOS load. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
The most recent event I can think of that may have affected this was a manual install of an ASPI layer (manually placing the DLLs and such in their proper locations), which I've heard (any ASPI install, auto or manual) causes some weird results on some 2000/XP machines.. but I don't see how this would affect the Shut Down options in Windows.... Any ideas?
