XP Welcome Screen

Something is odd with my parent's computer (XP Home). The Welcome Screen will no longer display. I have three accounts set up on there, and up until yesterday, the welcome screen would always come up, and an account could be selected. Now, it is a small window that requires you to type in a username and password. If I try fast user switching, it locks the computer.

Before someone asks, both the "use the welcome screen" and "use fast user switching" boxes are checked. I've tried unchecking them, applying settings, restarting, and then checking them again and saving. Nothing changes. Anyone have a solution?

Did you log onto the system using administrator? The settings will not hold if not.

Yes, and I tried the same steps I mentioned in my first post on my computers, and everything works fine with them.
