xp validation tool?

i just replaced my microatx gigabyte 6150 with dfi ultra d and fresh install the os. then after some update with xp i could not use my computer and it gives me a message to get another xp key. microsoft tells me that my key has been used so many times. i only change my mobo nothing else. any solution to use my old key?

When you go to activate your Windows XP the activation should fail and give you the option to phone a tech support person. When you phone them just explain that you;ve just switched your mobo, but it's the same PC, blah blah blah... And they should give you an activation code over the phone and then you're good to go.

Sunday Ironfoot is right - a new mobo makes it a new computer as far as the OS isconcerned. You need to call MS to transfer the activation from the old to the new. That is not usually a problem.

yes, i will call them as soon as possible. i got windows 2000 and i am using linspire writing this post. i did a dual boot. thanks.
