XP User - Where did my recycle bin go?

I don't have a recycle bin on my desktop. I had it there a week ago.
I've been going to my computer and navigating up to get the desktop view in the folder, and then emptying it that way.

What's the setting to get this damn thing back?

Hooboy.
It wasn't the cookie monster, it was oscar the grouch!
And he doesn't LIKE trash, he LOVES it.

I preferred the flushing toilet trashcan.

Right click your desktop...go to arrange icons then make sure "Show desktop icons" is checked.

if that doesnt work, did you maybe have your desktop at a higher resolution? maybe its off the screen somewhere
