XP Update Site!

Is there a web site that you can go to to download the updates for XP besides using Windows update? I know they had one for 98 and ME. I want to just download the updates and burn them so when I upgrade someones system, I don't have to wait for hours for their 56k line to snag the files let alone getting dropped in the process.

All this link does for me is take me to the regular ActiveX based Win Update site that you get when you get updates via OS-based Windows Update.

If anyone has a direct link to the corparate download site (so you can download the actual updates to your hard drive to install later or on multiple boxes) please post it. Thanks...

that's exactly what i posted...take a closer look.

it lets you download the updates to your hard drive for later use.

I just bought XP professional and put it on my computer. It asks me to activate. My question is can I put this software on my laptop and my desk pc or will activating only allow me to install on one computer. Thanks for helping out a newbie.

pro does need to be activated

its the VLK ones that dont, nor do the dell bios locked ones

<cough> nor do the fixed corp ones

<< um, dude, thats not professional. You don't have to activate professional, sorry to say >>

I have Full Install XP PRO and it requires activation.

Nice !🙂 Found all I needed for XP Pro........anyone have the links by any chance to the same type of download sites for 98/ME/2K?????? It would save me a heck of a lot of time on family and friends systems that are still on dial-up!😉
