XP To XP File Transfer Over Network = Slow

Ok, my computer upstairs has been winxp for a long time. I just installed winxp on the computer downstairs, and all the sudden the transfers have become really slow...

I had win2k on the machine before.

All hardware is exactly the same, but now since I put on XP downstairs, my transfers slowed down to painfully slow.

Any Suggestions?

well I changed nic cards and that didn't seem to fix the problem either...

I liked xp better...

anyways, it's fixed now... I don't know how, but it magically became fixed. Maybe because I set up a domain controller haha.
