XP1800
Asus A7V333 Motherboard

Temperature usually resides around 58ºC-62ºC. Sometimes fluctuates into the high 60's and has hit 70. Does this sometimes at random even when the computer is doing nothing.

CPU Fan running @ 4687rpm
Power Fan running @ 2812 rpm

Any suggestions etc??

I have an 1800, my temps are about the same. From what I've read around here, those are fine. HTH.

Ok. I went ahead and got a fan for the front of my case. I only had the additional fan on the side. The motherboard is considerably cooler, and the CPU is holding at a tad cooler temp. Looks like it's worth it for just a couple of bucks.

Vac, my XP 1800+ is currently running at 63°C w/ a case temp of 34°C, hope this helps. This rig is in a non-air-conditioned room. As for buying your second fan to use as an front intake, wise move :) .

how are you guys reading the temperature. I have a 1800+ with retail HSF and artic silver 3 on a MSI KT3 Ultra2 and the PC Alert4 software that comes with it reads my cpu temp at about 43-45C and its the same for when I go into the BIOS. I dont OC, is that the difference? Or are the temperature sensors taking readings at different locations?
