XP startup error

Everytime I start up xp, I get a little gray box that says error on top and the disappears before anything is displayed in the body of the box. It last a whole .1 seconds. I checked my event viewer and I get this warning at every startup:

The COM+ Event System failed to fire the ConnectionMade method on subscription

any idea what this means? thanks
 
Is your external Internet connection device turned of and connected at this point? Like, your cable/DSL modem, or the computer that is sharing their internal modem with you? It would seem to be saying it can't find what ever it was supposed to find to verify and make the connection.
