XP Startup Disk Problem

I am trying to follow an online tutorial on making a startup disk for XP Home. It tells me to go to "C" Drive and copy these files: BOOTSECT DOS File, NTDETECT, boot Configuration Settings, and ntldr System file. I cannot find those files even using "Search". Could I have missed something during XP installation, and not installed these files? It appears to me that they would have to be installed somewhere in order for the system to boot. I am probably doing something dumb here, but have gone as far as I can go on my own. Help

The files are marked hidden and system so explorer isn't showing them to you. Try from a cmd prompt.

Thanks - As it turns out, I had to also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". this showed me all of the folders except BOOTSECT DOS file. I wonder where it is?
