XP SP2 Firewall Question????????

When I go to the control panel and click on 'Security Center' it then shows me my winws firewall is on. Then at the bottom of that page I click 'Windows Firewall' and the next screen that pops up shows me that my firewall is off. So what is really happening and how do I fix this problem, if there is one?

The "Firewall On" thing in the security center can be any firewall I think, not just Windows'. Are you using another security/firewall program? That's probably what it's detecting. If you're not, then that is strange, and at the very least you should turn your firewall on.

Yes I am running Mcafee firewall. I have been haveing an issue with Mcafee for the last week and spent a couple of hours on the phone with them today. They still can not resolve the issue. At the end of our final conversation they told me to check with microsoft. At this point in time, I can not connect to their 'http://www.mcafeehelp.com' or 'http://ts.mcafeehelp.com' websites. I can connect to anything else on the web except those two sites, which inturn, they say, is why McAfee Privacy Service can not validate its subscription.

And I did check, you are correct, it shows 'on' when any firewall is being used, not just Windows Firewall.
