XP- Software removal problem

I was installing a game, but the CD was scratched and the install aborted halfway through. However the software is showing under the add/remove software menu. It wont let me uninstall it. I have tried to reinstall the game, but with no joy. I have also done reg searched without being able to find it

please help

Two ways to fix it...

My prefered way would be to use PowerToys for XP (it contains the XP version of TweakUI)

Second is to look for the key in the registry - the machine I am using at the moment has locked out regedit so I cannot tell you which key to look under but its certainly in there somewhere.

Edit : Just read your post properly - so amended my advice.
