I was wondering if it was possible that your PC could get slower from doing a quick format instead of a normal format that takes a long time. I have installed and formatted many times with windows xp, i was just wondering if that is a possibility for my pc being somewhat slow. I am an anti-spyware aholic so i know its not any of that. is it possible for the HD to get bogged down over many quick/regular formats? if its possible, would a low-level format irradicate this?

It should make no difference as far as speed. Run a check disk on the drive, I recommend running check disk at least once a month as part of routine maintenance. Also, delete all the system temp files weekly, defragment and kill any unneeded services.
