XP shows 2 processors

On a fresh install XP is showing 2 processors in task manager. Its a 3ghz p4. The system is a single processor machine.

Hyper Threading make XP think you have two processors. This is normal.

Bonus! I didn't realize that this was a hyperthreading processor! The little intel inside sticker usually has a little HT notation on it, this one doesn't! Very cool.

lol, yeah.. never trust anything with a sticker! Do they make 3ghz p4's without hyperthreading, or are they all ht?

I think all 3ghz are HT, atleast now.

Yes, all P4 processors above 3.0Ghz are HT. even the 3.06Ghz 533Mhz FSB one.
BTW, what motherboard are you using?
