Anyone find any software for umax scanners that works in XP? I have the 1200U umax scanner and the drivers dont work in XP even in compatibility mode. Any ideas? I wouldnt mind using free twain software if there is such a thing.
 
Doesn't WinXP have generic drivers for your scanner? My dinosaur Astra 1220U has a basic scanning interface available from XP anytime I plug it in, although I miss having the handy UMAX copy utility and light-off application in my system tray (why the devil don't scanners have off switches anyhow?)
 
You guys are lucky. I've got a 1220p. Doesn't work with any of the drivers, Umax or MS. I have tried them all, and all the methods suggested on the net.
 
my plustek 1212u works fine after id ownloaded the 2k drivers from their non-US site...

plustek is a division of umax, non? - perhaps i am totally off..??
