Ok...So my XP install dies..long story..I know what caused it and will avoid from now on..lets move on shall we?

so I save all I want from my boot drive and format (NTFS).

I pop in the winXP CD and start to install. I hit F6 to install my hipoint 370 drivers, the install finishes with the IDE drivers and says something to the effect of "Intallation is starting windows" and it will sit there for hours on end. No disk access..nothing.

I have removed all un-needed hardware and am left with a GeForce4 TI4200, 256 meg Crucial pc133, Maxtor 80 gig 7200 rpm ATA 100, and my cd drive (which has shown no trouble before)

I cannot get any further in the instalation process. Any ideas?

Edit: I'm dumb and listed half the memory I actually have

Memtest ran..and ran..and ran...no problems. Anyother ideas why the windows install wouldn't go?

Yep, WinXP installation is a little picky with vid cards, I was going to suggest trying with a PCI card.
