XP questions

I recently installed XP and am in the process of trying to figure out how to do several things. The first is being able to set all folders to the same format(like in win98 were you could hit the "make all folders look like this one" button), that way I don't have to set them all individually. The second thing is to make the cpu idle or power down when I'm not doing anything strenuous(to keep the cpu cooler). I had used WPcredit/Wpset before but thought that XP had this feature built in, If not, does anyone know if that prog. will work in XP?

Well, I can help you with the folder views...just open an explorer window, select the view you want, then go to tools, folder options and the view tab and hit the apply to all folders button.

When not executing anything w2k / XP runs an IdleProcess. I think that's similar to what you mentioned "software CPU coolers".

thanks for the help guys, I decided to try that program that idles the cpu and it worked just fine, decreased low-load temps by 8-10degrees C. I will try the folders trick too, thanks,
