XP Problem

does anyone have any information as why i'm getting this error when i try to run some of my programs in xp

I get this message

" Please insert disk into drive device\harddisk\dr1"

what type of programs are you running?
are these programs installed correctly?

I happends normally when I run Instant Messenger (AIM). Thats the error I get but I am still able to start the App after the error. Just really wondering why it happens.

Can you post a screen-shot of the message?

To do this when the message appears, click the PrtScn button on your keyboard. Go into paint and select edit then paste. Save the image and upload it to a website and insert it in your reply.

I'm gonna try to reformat and reinstall and I'll see if that corrects it.

Sorry that you could not get it worked out without reformatting. I usually make an image of my HDD where I can restore later...it works out great.
