OK, I am getting the Device Connect and Device Disconnect Wav file sound every 4-5 seconds with nothing being connected or disconnected, any ideas what is causing this? I have checked all connections on the back of the computer, but have not checked any of the cables inside, everything seems to be OK, all drives are showing in explorer so I'm at a total loss.

Any Help is appreciated.

We've had this happen when a USB header has gone bad on a system board in our shop.

I suppose there could be other causes, but it's the only personal experience I can speak to your described symptom.

Yes - I have had that occur with USB devices. The chime disconnect - then in a bit, a chime connect. Etc. I found it was caused by not having enough "juice" to maintain strong 5 vdc to the device. Solution - a powered hub.
