XP Pro USB Problem

I'm having trouble with my USB ports not running at high speed (2.0). They are instead running at 1.1. My motherboard (Asus P4P800) supports USB 2.0, and as such, I have made the following changes to my BIOS:

* USB Function [8 USB Ports]
* USB 2.0 Controller [Enabled]
* USB 2.0 Controller Mode [HiSpeed]

I installed Windows XP Service Pack 1 before I upgraded my machine, but the USB 2.0 drivers should have been installed. However, in Device Manager, I see under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" heading that all 4 of my host controllers are listed as "Standard" controllers and not "Enhanced". So, clearly, they are running at the lower speed.

How the heck do I enable high speed? My BIOS looks correct, all my hardware supports 2.0, and I have the Service Pack that is supposed to fix this. Any suggestions?

How do I uninstall the old drivers? That is one of the things I've had trouble finding. The current drivers in use are the ones provided by Microsoft (but clearly, they are the 1.1 drivers - not 2.0).

Try this, in device manager, go to your usb controllers and right click, go properties, and click update drivers....worked for one of my systems, detected usb 2 controller.
Just for the sake of askin, after upgrading system, did you install the chipset drivers off of mobo cd?
 
I tried updating the drivers as you suggested, Trashman, but Windows does not find the newer drivers. Ano no, I did not install any drivers off of the mobo CD. In fact, when I tried that, I got an error stating that I had Windows XP SP1 and did not need the drivers (so it won't even let me install them)!
 
That did it! I went to the Intel website and got the latest chipset drivers, and my USB is now running at full speed. I also fixed a graphics card problem at the same time.
