Is there a site/ftp where you can dl the SP1 for XP Pro. I'd like to have it on CD. All of MS' update packs are online updates. I'm also looking for the latest DirectX to put on CD. I have a game with DirectX9.0b on it but one of the files it extracts from one of its cabs is corrupted.
Thanks for any help

The full installation of SP1a is available here.

For post-SP1 updates, go to Windows Update and click the "Windows Update Catalog" on the left-hand menu.

You can slipstream your SP1a onto your existing XP CD. The directions are here.

EDIT: Spy beat me too it

Even better is to then slipstream the SP1 into a new copy of XP Pro all on one CD. That's what I did - the recipe is here somewhere in AT.

What's even better than that is to setup an unattended install that has ALL the critical updates after SP1 loaded. The going rate for an unpatched system to get blaster worm from the time it hits the net is between 60-90 seconds. There are some workarounds to allow you to patch without the system shutting down, but why get infected in the first place?

Here's the guide I use....it rocks!

Of interesting note, the blaster virus can't get you if you turn on the xp firewall. That's what I always do on a fresh install before I get the updates.
