XP Pro Search not finding files with designated text

Muse

Lifer
I used to use this all the time when I knew that some files contain a certain string ("Containing text") and Windows would always find the files either in the folder chosen or in subfolders. Now I'm getting no results and I am 100% sure there are results to return. The last 1/2 dozen times I've tried it I've gotten no files found, and I'm certain that's in error. What could be preventing Windows Search from doing its job?

Thing is, the searches used to work fine AFAIK and now they don't. I don't know why XP would stop being able to find the files. Of particular interest to me are FoxPro data files, and they have the extensions:

.dbf
.fpt
.cdx

Used to work fine. 😕

Yup. Awesome utility... I was turned on to it a couple of days ago by some guys in a newsgroup. It works great, is powerful and configurable, and I'm just using the freeware version. I haven't gotten under the hood much yet, but it's doing what XP refuses to do. Weird, it used to work in these contexts using XP's search.

...thanks!
