XP Pro & M'soft Updates weirdness

My system has, for the last 8 days or so, automatically downloaded the 811493 Security Update every single day.

It successfully installs every day. It appears at every boot in my Add/Remove program listings. Yet my system downloads it again, faithfully every day.

What is up with this?

Do you have "automatic update" enabled?

Try uninstalling it from Add/Remove programs and installing it again.

Yes, I have automatic enabled. Downloads and notifys me.

Uninstall, now that is an excellent idea! Should have thought of that myself!

I have no clue if that will work, just thought I should mention it. Worth a try

It's good reasoning. I delayed te latest install for 24 hours, I'll know tomorrow afternoon if it worked.
